Pascal Groß supplied the biggest return, but this wasn't a week when one club supplied half the team. Nine clubs feature in the Premier League Gameweek 4 Perfect Line Up, with Brighton and Leeds the only sides represented twice. There are goals to celebrate, assists to appreciate and plenty of work that didn't end with somebody wheeling away towards the corner flag.
The XI totals 179.0 TFF points. Groß leads on 23.5, Morgan Gibbs-White follows on 19.5, and every selected player reaches at least 14.0. Four Gameweeks in, the season figures also give us something to compare with the headline hauls: who's repeatedly involved, and whose best afternoon still needs backing up?
Brighton deliver at both ends
Brighton beat Coventry 5–0, with Groß scoring from the penalty spot. His 23.5 points reflect a game containing a goal, two assists and six chances created, alongside two tackles. Bart Verbruggen joins him on 14.0 points, keeping a clean sheet and making six saves. The comfortable scoreline still left the goalkeeper with work to do.
Groß has now played every minute of the opening four Gameweeks, recording two goals, two assists and 13 chances created. This return contributed more than half of his 46.0 season points, but seven chances created before GW4 show that his creative involvement was already there. Verbruggen has also played all 360 minutes, with ten saves across the season. Six came here, so this week's workload was unusually high. Regular minutes are encouraging for both players; another three goal involvements or six-save shutout shouldn't become the weekly expectation.
Schade and Tavernier trade attacking returns
Bournemouth and Brentford drew 2–2. Kevin Schade scored twice from his two attempts for 16.5 points, while Marcus Tavernier earned 17.0 with a goal, four shots and four chances created. Schade made his finishing count; Tavernier combined his goal with a busy creative performance.
Tavernier now has three goals from 13 shots across four starts, taking him to 50.0 season points. That sustained attacking involvement is more informative than any single finish. Schade also has three goals, from ten attempts, although converting every shot as he did here is a demanding standard to repeat.
João Pedro and Giles make their contributions count
João Pedro recorded a goal and an assist in Chelsea's 2–2 draw with Hull, earning 16.0 points. Ryan Giles matches that return for Hull, with an assist, two chances created, a tackle and an interception. Both played the full match, and both rewarded managers despite their teams conceding twice.
João Pedro's 65.5 season points are the highest among the eleven selected players. Three goals and three assists across four full appearances give him a stronger body of attacking returns than most of this week's team. Giles has also started all four matches, playing 355 minutes and creating six chances. This was his first assist, so his regular involvement is the encouraging part rather than evidence that another 16-point score is imminent.
Gibbs-White creates, McGinn responds
Gibbs-White earned 19.5 points as Forest won 2–1 at Aston Villa. His assist came alongside seven chances created and two shots. John McGinn takes a FLEX place with 14.5 points for Villa, recording an assist, two chances created, a tackle and an interception. The two midfielders both found ways to contribute over 90 minutes.
The season comparison calls for some restraint. Seven of Gibbs-White's eight chances created came in this match, while McGinn produced two of his three. Both have started every Gameweek, but these were unusually creative outings relative to their earlier numbers. Gibbs-White's goal and two assists across the season offer additional encouragement; McGinn's first attacking return is something to build on rather than an established pattern.
Leeds deliver, Gabriel holds firm
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Tarik Muharemović each earned 14.0 points in Leeds' 4–1 win over Newcastle. Calvert-Lewin recorded a goal and an assist in 78 minutes; Muharemović supplied an assist and two interceptions. Calvert-Lewin now has two goals from ten attempts across four starts, while Muharemović has played every minute and made eight interceptions. His first assist adds attacking value to that defensive involvement.
Gabriel completes the defence on 14.0 points, keeping a clean sheet in Arsenal's 2–0 win at Sunderland. He has played all 360 league minutes without a goal or assist, a different route to this XI from the attacking defenders around him.
